Sending Thanks

Wow did you all see the post yesterday......oh I can't wait to play with those new dies!!!  I'd also like to say a HUGE congrats to Lynne, how awesome that she had the chance to design four of the new dies!!

This past weekend my Uncle gave up a relaxing weekend at his cottage to come here and help us build our new garage.  I owe him so much thanks for all his help, we couldn't have done it without him.

To say thank you I made him a card using the Berry Flower die, and I'll slip a little gift card inside so he & my aunt can enjoy an evening out.

I really wanted to make it look like the flower was growing right out of the card so I started by cutting the Berry Flower from the off white paper, using both the die cut part and the negative piece.  To really show off the flower I layered a dark green paper behind.

To add more dimension to the Berry Flower I started by inking the edges of the flower with brown ink.  Next I wanted to add a little shine, so I added some Tarnished Brass Distress Stickles.

The final touch was curling the petals of the flower while I dried the stickles with my heat gun, making it pop right off the page!!

Don't forget to use the negative space you have after you've cut out your dies, you can create some really fun looks with it!

Thank you for stopping by today, if you didn't see yesterdays post you might want to check it out, Lynne has a giveaway!!
