Bird Wreath~Holiday Frame

I just love this little "Bird Wreath" from Die~Namites Dies...it's so adorable cut out in many different materials. I first cut it out of Kraft card stock paper twice, popped one of the centers out. Then left one die cut tacked on using gel medium brushed over it with a thin layer on both sides to secure and white washed it. Then popped out the other Kraft die cut center and discarded...with the bird wreath I inked up the die cut with Versa Mark ink and covered with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (I repeated this process a couple of times).
Then with a nail file scratch away some of the enamel to give a worn look.

The base is a 5x7 Artist Canvas Panel that I layered stucco/gesso mixture over the whole panel and started placing my vintage mother of pearl buttons onto of it...this was super cool to create.

To help give the Bird Wreath some depth I used an old ribbon spool to pop up the center...(you can't see this but I put stucco/gesso over the outside of the ribbon center (in case someone could see from the sides). This give a place for the Bird Wreath to sit which I popped up with 3D tape to help lift up the die cut.

I dug through some pipe berries and holiday trims I have in my scrappy stash.
I decided I want a flower but didn't have any that matched so I grabbed some shabby fabric, cut out random circles. Then burned the edges over a candle, sewed together and added a vintage pearl button!
Shabby Chic flowers...love them...

I needed a frame so I went digging into my stash of flea market basket of frames...oh my I love this brassy one...I just love that it's tarnished.
Took the Perfect Pearls mist-Heirloom Gold and lightly misted the whole frame...vintage feel!
To finish the altered frame I knew the little "Merry Christmas" stamp was a perfect fit!
It's never to early to start on your Holiday Home Decor!!
