Summer Memories

As a mother of two boys I like many find it hard to make things work on boy pages...but I also like the challenge of taking something feminine and making it work.

On my layout I paired the Butterfly Wreath with it's flowers & butterflies with Knobby Branch which is more neutral.

I had these photos of my oldest son from a hike we took in Banff, AB Canada last summer, and I really wanted to use the dies to reflect the wooded background from the photos.

To keep the layout more masculine I pulled out my sprays & mists (Mr. Huey's & Dylusions) to create this fun background on a piece of Fancy Pants Corrugated Cardstock.

I cut both the Butterfly Wreath & Knobby Branch die from basic black cardstock to ground the page and add some balance to the page with all the misting going on.

I cut apart both dies adding pieces from each in opposite corners to make it look like the woods were coming out of the photos.

I hope this insires you to break out of the gender box when you're creating boy pages and pull out those flowers & butterflies!!!

Thanks for popping by today!!
