Guest Blogger ~ Heather Kindt

Today we have a Guest Blogger, Heather Kindt.
Die-namite crafters!
I'm honored to share with you a cute project.
It was so simple!

I took a book making class from my local Art Museum. One of the books had a brown paper cover and some bright green thread for binding. The look wasn't bad, but I wanted to make it cute.

It only took two changes! First I covered the paper with Viva Colour's Inka Gold in Green.  I rubbed it in and buffed it until it was shiny.

With my cute new die,

I cut some adhesive-backed foil (made by Ranger).  It made a really cute emblem! I debated adding to it but I like the simple look and the fact that the cover is still nice and flat.

Thank you Heather for sharing your project!!

The Sketch is great and I enjoyed it, to play with.
I created a Scrap Layout without Pictures - I've used some
Textstamps. They are from Vildastamps. The Papers are
from Inkido and Kraftpaper. Also I've used a lot of
Embellishments and the fantastic Embossing Enamels
Frantage from Stampenduos. They are so shabby.
Did i told you, that i love the shabby chic? ;)

I used one of my favorites -  the "Summer's Branch" Die,

Here are some Detailpics of my Layout:

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

5 Products & 5 Minutes.

Hi Die-Namite Friends!

5 products and 5 minutes and you have one adorable Christmas card (or make it any kind of celebration card). I was looking to mass produce quite a few cards without using a ton of product and have it go fast. I was inspired by our Beautiful Bow die and after digging through my scrap holiday paper I had the perfect idea. Making a wrapped package look type of card!

All you need is:
Cardstock
Patterned paper on a smaller scale (6x6 paper pads work perfect for this)
Adhesives (pop dot and other fav adhesive)
Scissors

I cut a strip of red cardstock, cut out my Beautiful Bow in the same cardstock, and cut a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than my card base.

I glued a piece of the strip of red cardstock on either corner of the card and trimmed up the edge. Then I added the die cut in the upper right corner with a pop-dot. I also chose to add a little gem in the center of the bow but it looks just as pretty without. Once that is done, simply adhere the card front to the base and its done! Simple yet beautiful. Try some metallic papers for a more elegant look.

Happy Crafting!

Now....I've spent the majority of my week
getting my "studio" up and running.
Needless to say.....
Not only did I use the sketch....
it was a 30 minute or less QUICKIE!!

....and because my "stuff" is an upheaval,
I pulled out a few papers from "Decked Out" collection
by Splash of Color.
Then I decided to challenge myself further
and only use what I had on my work surface....
which can I say was VERY LIMITED!

OH.....do you spy the Die~Namites Die????
It is the Pine Bough die.

I cut it from Canvas Corp ~ Kraft Chipboard Handmade paper.
I brushed on a bit of Viva Colour ~ Gold ~ Precious Metal Effect Paint
and gave the Pine Bough a spritz of water.
It wouldn't be me if I didn't scrunch the Pine Bough diecut up while it's drying.

So, not sure the "cut" candy cane image
"cuts" it for a tag! but it sure went well!!

AND....it wouldn't be me if there wasn't a flower
on my card....SOMEWHERE!
Don't you just love the Petaloo goodie??

I do hope I've inspired you to pull out one

Thankful Mini-Album cover with Die-Namites.

Hi Die-Namite Fans!

Taniesa here giving you a little sneak peek of my Thankful/Autumn bucket list album. I Love fall, it has to be my most favorite season of the year. This year I am working on a mini album to document the fun fall traditions that my family shares as well as the things we are thankful for. I will be sharing more of my album through November both here on the Die-Namites blog and my personal blog.

For the cover I chose to use the Maple Leaf Border die. I thought this would be a perfect accent to the bow that I added to my cover.

For the album I chose a chipboard 6x6 album from American crafts. I covered with some metallic chevron bazzill cardstock that I have been hoarding for a while and then added some pretty autumn ribbon to cover the joined portion of the fabric and the covered chipboard.

I cut each of the leafs out of matte gold paper and then cut each of the leafs apart. after I made the bow I adhered the leafs around the center of the bow and then layered a CraftyPickle 1" Flair badge to the center of the bow.

I hope you enjoyed the peak at my Autumn album cover. I can't wait to show you all more soon!

Happy Fall everyone!

Monthly Sketch Challege...Happy Holidays Card

Welcome to my take on this months Sketch Challenge and Die~Namites Dare!!!

A random winner will be chosen from eligible participants
for a $25 Gift Certificate to the Die~Namites Dies.

Here is this month’s sketch.....

Here is the card I made based on this wonderful sketch...

To create my card I used the Frosty Snowflake and Elegant Holly dies.

Both the Frosty Snowflake and Elegant holly were cut using a scrap of corrugated white cardstock that I found hiding in my stash...I love a good find!

As you can see from the close up photos the texture is amazing, and turned out different for each of the dies.

The tag was created by swiping it with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Stain first, then I layered Tim Holtz Chipped Sapphire & Weathered Wood Distress Ink over top, creating this rich blue color, which really shows off the dies!  Once I had my base ink on the tag I added a few drops of water and a background stamp for a little added texture.

Be sure to play along with this month's sketch for your chance to win!!!  Just think it will get at least one more card ready for the fast approaching Christmas season.  Link up your creations using inlinkz HERE!  Good luck!
