What's UP Wednesday: Die~Namites Dies Scrapbook Layout

It's What's UP Wednesday!!
Guess what I have been up to-you guessed it playing with some amazing Die~Namites Dies and Marion Smith new paper collections Mad Tea Party and Nirvana.
Also I decided I wanted to play along with Once Upon A Sketch Blog Challenge for December...so
here is my 12 x 12 Layout
of my daughter Emilee who is senior this year!
Where does the time go?
I just love these two die cuts and I fuzzy cut the flowers out of the paper collections!
Lots of textures and details-hope you all enjoy!
Make sure you read to the end (sneak peak of our Blog Hop this weekend)!

Adding texture with stucco/gesso and mists...
Distressing the edges...

I used just plain white card stock to die cut out my Die~Namites Dies.
Then using Distress ink in Vintage Photo and water painted the die cuts.
Using Perfect Pearl Mist in Blue Patina to give a rustic feel and look.
You can do this with any medium.

NEW - Knobby Branch

NEW - Summer Branch

Great Tip-cut apart your die cuts to use in little places...
to tuck and make your dies stretch!

I just love using my mists, inks and stamps to give the
Die~Namites Dies great texture.

Thanks for stopping by today!!
hugs,
Peggy Lee

Christmas Tag

There's only 9 days until Christmas, are you ready?  I have a few more things to finish up before the big day, but I'm close to ready!

Every year I say I'm going to make handmade Christmas tags for all the gifts I give, and every year that doesn't happen, there always seems to be too much to get done.  I think I need to start them in July!  But I have gotten one tag made, which I'm sharing with all of you today.

I've seen quite a few photos of holiday decorations made using vintage figure skates, I absolutely love the idea and hope one day I can make one to display in my house.  But for now I thought re-creating this look on a tag would do.

I used on of the new Tim Holtz Blueprint stamps as my base, the filled the top of the skate with the Pompom, Knobby Branch and Cattails dies.

I started the tag by inking the base with Distress Ink, then I stamped the Blueprint stamp using black Archival ink.  I stamp the image a second time cutting out the skate so that I could layer and pop it off the tag.

Once I had the background of my tag ready I stated layering the die cut pieces to look like they are sticking out the top of skate boot.

I finished it off with some mini pine cones and a piece of ribbon.  Now to find a special gift for a special person to attach it to! :)

If you haven't played along with this month's Sketch & Dare Challenge you still have time, and it's great if you need a little inspiration for those last minute Christmas Cards...or tags!!
