Turning Christmas Leftovers into Valentine Treasures.

Hi Die-Namite Fans!

Today I am bringing a few leftovers from my holiday scrapbooking and reviving them with a little valentine flair. Of course this little bag/tag holder is so universal it can be used for any occasion.

The beautiful Die-Namites Die that I am working with today is the Fresh Cut Rose, Part of the latest release at Die-namites Dies.

 Fresh Cut Rose

I love the simple elegance of this die. First thing I did was cut a bunch of the roses out of heavy white cardstock. Normally I would use my alcohol markers to color in the die cut but this time I wanted a little different look. I grabbed my Heidi Swapp color shine mists in Chartreuse and Sweet Cherry. I covered the rosebud and sprayed the stem with the Chartreuse and let dry, then covered the stem and sprayed the rosebud with the Sweet Cherry.

Once everything was dry I took a versamark ink pad and blotted the ink pad directly on the rosebud. I added some Ranger frosted crystal embossing powder and heat set. Then I took my versamarker and using the brush tip I covered the top portion of the leaves and then covered with American Crafts embossing powder in gold and heat set that as well.

I had a few leftover pieces from Holiday papercrafting. The 3x4 pocket and chipboard heart are from Studio Calico and the tag and trim were things I just happen to have on hand. I attached the Fresh Cut Rose diecut and a bow to the pocket with a staple. After this was finished I sewed the pocket onto a little fabric bag I had leftover from a kit.

I took the tag and lightly misted it with some light pink ink spray and then stamped the “Thank You” sentiment in black. In my case I was using this bag for a friend but it really could be used for any occasion such as Birthday or Valentine’s Day.

To finish it off I added a chipboard heart below the sentiment. After the photos were taken I wrote a little note and tucked it back into its pocket. I like this idea because the recipient can choose to reuse this in their own gift giving later if they wanted.

When you are putting away your Christmas supplies I challenge you to repurpose them into something beautiful alongside one of Die-Namite’s gorgeous dies.
