You Are Loved Layout by Tonya Gibbs

Hi everyone, today I wanted to share with you a layout that I created of me and my daughter Brittany.  The photo was taken on our trip to the mountains last year on my Birthday.  I used some of the elements from this month's sketch and challenge to create the layout.

This entire layout was made using scraps, and odd and end pieces of products on my desk.  I find it rewarding when I can use up those scraps to make a beautiful work of art.  Die-namties' dies are the perfect way to eliminate that scrap paper pile.

I always pre-treat my card stock with Gesso or Matt Medium (if it is patterned paper)  before cutting these intricate dies so that I can easily color them with my artist mediums. For all of my dies in this project,   I used the following PITT Big Brush Artist Pens from Faber-Castell Design Memory  110, 131, 154, 170, 175, 199, 235 and 268.  Once the PITT ink was dry, I spritzed the pieces with Gold Lume Color Shine from Heidi Swapp for added texture, and to smooth out the coloring.

It was so fun incorporating so many Die-namites Dies into one layout.

I cut the die from Book Pages, then sprayed with Tattered Angels Cherub Pink, and Heidi Swapp Gold Lume.   I then removed the leaves from the branch and glued them to the edge of a 1 inch circle punch. Repeating for three layers.  Then topped off  the center with a button.  I love that I have transformed this leaf branch into an elegant flower.

The doily is playing peekaboo at the top of the file folder, and under the flower made by the Leafy Branch die.   I sprayed the dies with Gold Krylon Spray Paint to make them stand out.  It was so much fun creating this layout.  I hope I have inspired you to use your dies in a different way, and to also use several dies on one project.
Here is a process video of me making the layout!

Here is the sketch for this month's Sketch Challenge & Dare.

There are only a few days left to participate in the challenge. I hope you can join in the fun. Click here to visit the Sketch & Dare page!
