Metamorphosis

Hello Everyone!

I am back from vacation refreshed and ready to go
with a new project and new Die~Namites Dies!

How often do you feel like the caterpillar, road weary and sucked dry by life?
But through metamorphosis, the Master has an even better plan for you!
Maybe that is why I love butterflies so much as they remind me of real beauty
and hope.  Today's card is full of hope, symbolized by a colorful butterfly in a world of neutrals.
I used 4 Die~Namites Dies for my card- the butterfly, of course,
which is from the new, Butterfly Frenzy Die

These butterflies are so pretty all together, but work just as well singly and are
perfectly sized for creating a vignette.

This butterfly was cut in light torquoise and backed with a darker torquoise.  I added a black body and antennae and coated the antennae with Crystal Effects. A shiney black pearl is perfect for the butterfly head.  Lastly, I added a thin coat of Luminarte Silks in Ice to give the butterfly shimmer.
My sentiment is backed on an oval frame which is made using another new die, The Shady Tree Die.  Yes that is a tree die!

I cut two Shady Trees in white, trimmed off much of the trunk and then lined my oval
with them, one right side up and one upside down.  The cut ends are covered
by the sentiment banner.

My floral spray is made with another new Die~Namites Die, which is quickly
becoming a favorite for its versatility- the Small Ivy Die.

As you can see, I have also used another die, the new-to-me Knobby Branch Die. To
give it a more 'twiggy' look, I added Distress Stickles in Walnut Stain to them.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope I have inspired you today!

Lee Ann Barrett :)

  2. Oh my goodness, Lee Ann, what a beautiful card! Love how you used the Shady Tree Die. I thought there must be a new doily die that I haven't seen. Great use of what you already have in your stash and really quite brilliant :)
