Red, White, and Blue for You!

Hello Everyone!

Happy July 4th to our American friends!  Today's card uses those fabulous patriotic colors in a non-patriotic card.

I decided to try a new technique, and this die was the perfect one to use.  Instead of using my new Flowers and Leaves Die to make a die cut, I used it to emboss the image.

I started with placing my white cardstock on my rubber mat, then placed the die, cutting side down, on top of the cardstock,  This was sandwiched in between the cutting plates and run through the Big Shot.
Once I had my impressed piece of cardstock, I cut it down to size and also fussy cut around some leaves, using the "outside the box" technique.  I die cut the flower heads out of red cardstock several times and layered them up on the image base, topping them off with pink centers, pearls and glitter.

The impressed foliage was colored with Copic markers- I used E40-E44.

I used the faux watercolor technique on my background gingham, inking up the image with two shades of blue and spritzing the stamp with water before stamping the image on the cardstock.
Once that was done, layers, vellum, a button and twine finish off the card!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you today!

Have a wonderful week!
