Hello and welcome!
Susie here today with a bird-themed birthday card featuring the Pine Wreath die!
To create this project I used these two dies:
The first step was to create an open frame for the front of the card. I cut the Spring Egg Scene out of white cardstock and set it aside for future use. I put the die back in place and used a black pen to trace around the decorative edge of the die.
To create the top layer of the card I cut the white frame down to size, inked the edges, stamped a sentiment, and tied on some twine.
Next it was time to play with the Pine Wreath die!
I cut it out with 110lb white cardstock and decided not to remove the detailed cuts within the bird. They add a nice subtle texture, don't you think?
I used chalk to add color and when I was finished I snipped off the bit of the die cut I needed.
I used Glossy Accents on the bird and the "berries" on the branches.
The eye is a self-adhesive 3mm black pearl.
When I was ready to assemble the pieces, I popped up the face of the card with a chipboard layer that I had cut to match. It was all adhered to the top of a light blue A2 sized card.
The top of the branch was tucked under the chipboard and the tip of the branch was adhered to the face of the card.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today! Susie
