I wanted to create a layout that was as bold and bubbly as the child in the photograph. When brainstorming for this layout, I kept thinking about carnival and festival colors. Rich and vibrant tones with lots of texture. I am so loving bright colors these days. But this was reaching, WAY outside my comfort zone!
In today's layout share I'm going to use these three AMAZING dies from Die-Namites. In my opinion, all of these dies are MUST haves. I use them in nearly every project!
I cut the Five Petal Flowers Die from a Pre-Gessoed Cardstock and then painted the flowers only with Bubble Gum Gelatos® Double Scoops® from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®. Once the flowers were dry I trimmed away the negative pieces. Then I cut a second die cut from green cardstock that was sprayed with Gold shimmer. The Pink flower cutouts were paper pieced on top of the green die cut. This gives you neatly colored flowers.
For the Large Ivy Die I used a combo of the Lemon and Metallic Mint Gelatos® Double Scoops® from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®. After they were dry, I traced around the die shape to give my leaves more presence on the layout!
The Spring Doily Die was cut from gold cardstock and used to frame out my photo!
Here is a process video of me creating this layout.
I love these bright colors and think they really portray the personality of my Niece.
She is always so bright and cheerful!
Tell me in the comments below, which dies are your favorites
and on the must have list!
