Christmas is in the Air........Blog Hop!!

Welcome to day one of the Viva Las VegaStamps and Die~Namites Dies blog hop...

First up in our blog hop is Die~Namites Dies DT member Annmarie Colbert.....

I had so much fun creating this card using Die-Namites Dies and Viva Las VegaStamps. To create this card I used the die and stamps pictured below.

To create the background, I used the Set of Three Ornaments to stamp the image on red card stock with VersaMark. After stamping the image, I applied some clear embossing powder and heat set to give the illusion of Christmas bulbs hanging in the background.

To create the bulbs, I cut the die out in Whisper White card stock and then cut the bulbs away from the branches. I then took some mirror card stock and applied some tape to the back of the card stock and cut the die again. I cut the bulbs away from the die and glued the whisper white bulbs on top of the mirrored card stock so that the silver showed through the negatives. Using some pop dots, I then attached the bulbs to the card stock and applied some twine to give the appearance that the bulbs were hanging from the branches.

To create the branch I cut the die branch out 4 times in olive card stock. I glued one of the whole branches to the top of the card. I took two of the branches and cut away the branches so I could apply them with some glue in different directions on the card stock. After applying the single branches I took the last whole branch and applied it over the top of the single branches to give it a finished look. I then applied some stickles to the branches to give the branches a icicle appearance.

To finish off the card, I added some tiny bows I created using the same twine that I used to hang the bulbs. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Viva Las VegaStamps, I stamped  with VersaMark and applied some silver embossing power.

Next we have Die~Namites Dies DT member Tonya Gibbs

I had so much fun playing with the Die-namites Dies and Viva Las VegaStamps to create this beautiful Christmas card.   Today I used these dies and stamps:
 Bitty Candle Die

Pines Crown Die

From Viva Las Vegas Stamps  I used these Stamps:

For the background  I used  the Fire Brick Distress Paint at the top of my background paper. When the paint was dry, I used white embossing powder with the Brick Background stamp to give the illusion of a fireplace. I used the negative space of the stamp as a guide to tear away the top of the paper. Corrugated card board was then layered in the background. I love how this technique looks like the bricks have fallen off the wall.

The candles were all cut from the Bitty Candle die, then layered on to a piece of no shed gold glitter paper.   Once the glue had dried, I trimmed the candles to make them different width and height sizes. This made them the perfect scale for my fireplace mantel.   I finished off the candles by coloring the flames with the Scattered Straw and Spiced Pumpkin Distress pens, blending the colors with water, then brushing a bit of Gold Wink of Stella glitter pen over the flame.

I cut the Pines Crown die out of green patterned paper, and also from brown card stock. I layered the brown pine cones back in place to give my swag a more realistic look.  I used a gold Wink of Stella Pen on my pine cones to bring them to life as well.

I used the same white embossing powder to heat emboss the  Poinsettia/Small stamp onto a piece of red card stock.  I fussy cut around stamped image, and finished off my poinsettia with a red Wink of Stella Pen to add sparkle to my flowers.

To finish off my card, I added a twine bow to my mantel swag, and stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment in the bottom center of the card with Vermilion Red Archival Ink from Ranger.

I hope you have enjoyed my share today. Don't forget to check out the Die-Namties Dies Store and the Viva Las VegaStamps Stores to get your supplies for your holiday cards.
