RETURNING DT Member Lynne Forsythe

My name is Lynne Forsythe and I am from a small town in Northern New Hampshire and have been creating since I was a child.  I discovered paper crafting about 7 years ago.....and have never looked back! I love trying new things, then sharing them with anyone who will listen. I like to remind people that it’s good to step outside of one’s creative box.” I am known for my love of color, and will color anything I can get her hands on. If I was to classify my style, it would be Distress meets Shabby and ALWAYS has flowers!

I have been published in several magazines and currently designs for Petaloo, Canvas Corp Brands which includes Tattered Angels and 7Gypsies, The Crafter's Workshop and am the Design Team Coordinator for Die~Namites Dies, in which I have designed several dies. I have also created numerous video tutorials and have taught extensively across the United States.  You can view my blog here.

I am looking forward to working with this new Die~Namites Dies Design Team.

NEW DT Member ~ Tyra Babington

Welcome to the Die~Namites Design Team Tyra!

Hello my name is Tyra Babington and I write content for CraftSwag.com, a site for crafty finds and instruction and JustTyra.com, a site dedicated to sharing my crafting journey.   My style is clean, simple and fun!   I have been crafting on and off for several years now and my current focus is paper crafting, although I love trying anything handmade!

I am a married mother of three, five years and younger living in the Midwest again after spending over ten years in Arizona.  I am a fan of football, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and my Macbook.  I also try to garden so you may catch a few pics of what I’m growing on Instagram (@justtyracreates).  My favorite colors are always changing and I guess that’s a good thing! If you and I were to meet in person, you might say that I’m quiet in crowds, but hilarious one-on-one!

NEW DT Member ~ Susie Bentz

We would like to welcome
Susie Bentz to the Die~Namites Design Team.

I am basically a stay at home mom whose kids are now high school aged and older.  I do work a few hours a week designing display windows at an outlet store for fun - and the shopping discount!   I am a crafter at heart and have been creating all my life.  I started scrapbooking about 7 years ago through a girlfriend who was a Creative Memories consultant.  It has truly become my passion, my creative outlet and my therapy!  I am primarily a scrapbooker but I enjoy all kinds of paper crafting and mixed media.   I am currently serving on 3 design teams:  Quick Quotes, Paper House Productions and Want2Scrap.  In the past I have designed for Moxxie, Susan K. Weckesser, ScraPerfect, and the local scrapbook store where I was also a teacher for 2 years.   I am addicted to die cutting!  I create almost every day and my dies arealways within reach.  I have lined the cabinet doors in my craft room with magnets to hold the dies I am currently using!  I like to try new techniques and tools and I love sharing what I have learned.

RETURNING DT Member Cathia Leblanc

I am a scrapper from Quebec (Canada), a wife and a mother of three beautiful children: Samuel who is 18, Olivier who is 15 and Mya who is 10 years old. I’m a big dreamer and a passionate who wants to beleive in fairy tale. I do scrapbook now since 8 years. I adore also the photography, reading and the camping.
I rarely plan my pages. I let a photo or a patterned paper inspire me and I take it from there. I love the shabby chic and romantic style but I also enjoy working with bold patterns and bright colors. I am a person who likes to try every styles. I am constantly learning and improving. I enjoy creating and have been lucky enough to have opportunities.

I'm really pleased to have the opportunity to be part of this fabulous team and meet this new challenge.

NEW DT Member ~ AnnMarie Colbert

I'm Annmarie Colbert; I have been married for 33 years to my high school sweetheart and soul mate, Randy Colbert. We have two sons, and we live in North Carolina. I have been a crafter as long as I can remember. Two special women inspired me at early age, my Aunt Mary and my high school home economics teacher, Ms. Griffin.  My Aunt taught me to crochet when I was thirteen, and Ms. Griffin taught me to cross stitch and sew at sixteen. Without their crafty influence I wouldn't be here today!   For years my crafty outlet was cross stitching. I currently enjoy quilting, and participate in a local quilting club.   I found my love for paper crafting in my 40s, and that passion has now evolved into a mixed media obsession.    I love that there are so many outlets to stimulate my creativity from layouts, mini albums, altered projects, mixed media, and journaling. If I had to pick a current favorite hobby, it would be mixed media; because I get to nurture my inner child, and love the way the mediums feel on my fingers!

NEW DT Member ~ Stacy Rodriquez

Die~Namites Dies would like to welcome,
Stacy Rodriguez to our Design Team.

My name is Stacy Rodriguez and i'm a midwest girl from Illinois where I live with my wonderful husband and daughter. I began my journey in scrapbooking over 10 years ago when my daughter started school. I wanted a unique way to create albums for her to have and cherish when she got older and something for her to pass on to her children someday. Since I have been creating for so long my style has changed along the way. I use to create only layouts but now i'm totally hooked on altering things, creating mini albums and tags! I'm always looking for new and fun techniques to try while helping others along the way.

I currently teach, design and work for our local scrapbooking store The Scrapbooking Studio which helps me stay up to date on the newest trends and products that come out. I have recently just started my third term designing for Xyron. I am also lucky enough to design for Petaloo and a couple other companies.  I have had the opprotunity to meet so many wonderful people in this industry and love every minute of it.

I'm so excited to be part of the Die Namites family and can't wait to share my creations with you!

You can check out Stacy's blog here.

RETURNING DT Member ~ Tonya Gibbs

DIE~NAMITES DIES welcomes back
DT member Tonya Gibbs....

It was an honor serving on this team last term, and I am so excited to begin a second term with this amazing company.  In 2004, I was bitten hard by the paper crafting bug, and haven't looked back since. I am a versatile artist,
and love experimenting with new techniques and different styles. Because of this, I would consider my personal style to be eclectic. I can do it all - from Shabby Chic to Grunge,  digital to paper crafting, mixed media to altered art. I enjoy the challenge of experimenting outside my comfort zone. I love to use my die cuts to eliminate my scraps. The projects that I’m sharing are perfect examples of how these small scraps can become a wonderful  masterpiece.  I am currently a guest designer for Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft, and have served as a creative team member for  Die-Namites Dies and Marion Smith Designs. I have also guest designed for Teresa Collins
Designs, 7Gypsies, Tattered Angels, and Canvas Corp. I love hanging out on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Scrapbook.com and Youtube. I also teach monthly Ustream classes on the first Monday of each month.  You can get to all of my social media outlets via my blog at  http://www.psychomoms.com.   Thanks again for accepting me for another term!  I'm so excited to be a part of  the Fall 2014 team.

Turn Scraps Into Treasures by Tonya Gibbs

Does this look familiar?  The dreaded scrap pile.

I keep all my scraps in this one container on my
cutting station.  This is the only way I know to contain them.
Since the tub is small, I have to tame it before it is too out of control.
Some people toss them, but I just can't bare the thought of doing that
it seems so wasteful.

A few weeks ago I got a new toy - YIPPY - the Craftwell eBosser,
I could not wait to open it up and play.  I set up my
Netflix  "Chick-Flick" watch list,
pulled out all of the my Die-namites dies and
 started cutting those scraps down.

Today's project is going to focus on these three dies.

Look at how beautiful those scraps look tucked in behind
that floral sprig.

They came together so beautifully on this card.  Even the
background is utilizing tiny shreds of paper!

I also used scraps to create the card base!
How do you like to use your scraps?
Let me know in the comments below.

Entry #2 USE the sketch! It can be interpreted (loosely or exactly)
as a card, layout or altered piece!
Entry #3 INCORPORATE the dare into your creation.

Each participant will receive one entry into our random drawing
for each entry into the challenge.

You have until the last day of the month to post your creation on your blog,
with mention of the Die~Namites Die used and a link back to the Die~Namites Dies blog.
Link your blog post, using Inlinkz, to the Die~Namites Die blog.

A random winner will be chosen from eligible participants for a
$25 Gift Certificate to Die~Namites Dies

Here is my take on this month's Sketch and Challenge.....see more details, here.
with the smell of fall in the air (and yes I am saying it) even though it's still
summer here on the East Coast, there is a nip in the air that fall will be here shortly!
I knew I wanted to create a fall looking card...love this Die~Namites Die "Acorn Foliage"
it's so beautiful colored with Distress Inks!

I started with some papers/stamps from Close To My Heart with a fall feel, adhered the paper
to card base, cut tiny banners and stamped the sentiment Thank You!
(everyone needs a thank you card for neighbors/friends bringing pies by)...
I love fall!

I used this beautiful fall die cut "Acorn Foliage" by Die~Namites!

Acorn Foliage

I did a water coloring effect with Ranger's Distress Inks and water...
I first die cut pieces out of white paper, sprayed the die cut with water.
Using a thin paint brush, (add ink color to a silicone mat) with water and
paint brush picked up each color and brush over die cut image.
Just keep adding layers upon layers of color (ink).
&
Then when ink was dry, I used Versa Mark ink over the colored die cut piece,
sprinkled clear embossing powder over and heat set...which helped pop the color out!!!

Now the challenge was to use washi tape, that was a challenge for me!!
I found it hard to decide to place it, I used a wood grain washi tape...I just couldn't
get it to work, until a piece ripped in half and then it clicked...added little pieces
here and there...done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today,
hugs
Peggy Lee

Designer Spotlight ~ Heather Thompson

This month's Designer Spotlight goes to....
Heather Thompson

Here is what Heather has to say!

My name is Heather Thompson. I am a mother of 2 beautiful children by day and a RN by night. We live in Wisconsin where the winters are long and drawn out so I get a lot of scrapping and creating  done. My husband-Adam is very supportive of my addiction. Besides creating, we have beautiful flower gardens and spend as much time outside as we can.

I got into scrapbooking after our daughter Olivia Sofia was born in 2008. Our son Maksim Ivan came 22 months later and I have tried to capture as much as I can.  Olivia has taken on her own creative soul and recently aquired her own table and corner in our craft room. I get a lot of my inspiration from her.

I just happened to stumble upon Die-namites a little over a year ago. I am thankful I did.
The design team is amazing and extraordinary. I always look forward to seeing
 all the wonderful projects.

Thank you Die-Namites for this "Designer Spotlight"  I am ecstatic, this is such an honor.
