Birthday Blog Hop by Tonya Gibbs

WELCOME to Day Three of our
New BIRTHDAY Release Blog Hop.

Did you know Die~Namites Dies
has released 16 new Birthday Themed Dies???

Oh how fun!  Who doesn't love a good birthday bash?
I know I do, but then I've always been a huge fan of "cake events"!

I used two Die-namites dies for today's project:

and the brand new super fab.

For my first project I decided to create a card. I used the Birthday Cake Die as my focal point.  I replaced some of the negative pieces with Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint to add depth and texture to my cake.  Doesn't it look like yummy frosting?  I used a Gold Wink of Stella Pen to make the base of the die cut look like a plate.

When I cut the die out of my card stock for the card, I noticed the negative space was rather interesting.  My initial thought was to create another shaker card, but a friend of mine said "You should totally turn that into a shaker gift bag." I loved the gift bag idea, and thought it could house my card, a few pieces of yummy chocolate and a gift card.   I used the scraps from the card to adorn the top of my bag. So wallah double bonus - there were no scraps left to store!

I used the negative pieces from the Birthday Cake Die, the hearts from the Heart Doily Die with Glass Glitter and party store Mylar Gold Birthday confetti.   Tissue paper adds the pop of color in the die's negative space area, and really helps my confetti to pop!

Now my card matches my packaging perfectly!

This bag was created using a 5 3/4" x 8 3/4" social envelopes.
Here is a video tutorial showing you how to make these bags:
