Birthday Blog Hop with Peggy Lee Baker and Susie Bentz

Hello and Welcome to the first day of our Birthday Blog Hop!
Susie here today and I am very excited to be introducing 2 of our fabulous new dies!
The theme of the new release is "Birthday"  so I created a festive birthday tag!

Here are the *newly released* dies I used on this project:

.

I started by cutting a tag out of black cardstock.  I centered the Elegant Balloon die on the tag, cut it out and  set it aside, saving all of the pieces to use later. I actually wanted to use the "negative space" left behind.

 I cut the Elegant Balloon die out of light blue cardstock and inserted it into the negative space,
filling in the holes with the pieces of black cardstock I had saved.
I accented the balloon with irridescent rhinestones.
.

I cut 2 of the Birthday Celebration dies out of metallic silver cardstock. I set the die cuts aside for later use,  retrieved the little silver stars and then sprinkled them around the tag like sequins!

I also used one of the stars to accent the dress of my paper doll.
I cut the Elegant Balloon die a second time out of the light blue cardstock.  I cut off the "balloon strings" and added a second layer of them to the tag. I only adhered them at the top so they would dangle.  I love the dimension!

I stamped a simple sentiment then adhered the black tag on top of a light blue tag.
A sheer ribbon at the top is the final touch.

One more look at the tag - and check out that fun dimension!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!!

Peggy Lee Baker is up next ....
with her SUPER CUTE Birthday Invitation.
~~~
I received this adorable "Party Animal" Die
and I knew I had to create
an birthday invitation!
Party Animal
I started with a card base in white,
I die cut the Die~Namites "Party Animal" out in
Kraft, black, lagoon card stock and in pattern paper.
~~~
I did a paper piecing technique
 (just cut the pieces apart in the colors you want)
Use wet glue to adhere the pieces back in place
 on the Kraft die cut piece.
To help give depth to the die cut piece I used 3-D foam tape
between the two Party Animal Die cut...
Bottom layer that I adhere down to card front is black die cut.
3-D foam tape
Top layer is your paper pieced die cuts.
Also distressed the edges of die cut piece
 with distress ink in vintage photo...helps to give warmth to die cut.
**tip**
See the balloon in the photo above...see the cute little stars
and dots well those are the negative pieces that fall out
of the die cut pieces...oh yes I say everything when I die cut images out.
You never know if they can be used
 to adorn your projects!
I call this extra bonus from using your Die~Namites Dies.
