Dreaming of Spring!!
Yes I am even though this past
Friday was the first day of spring....on the calendar it was.
Not here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire...
we had snowflakes-let's just say
I am so ready for spring to come and stay.
Dreaming of Spring with warmer temps were heavily on my mind.
I decided to create my own spring in my card using
I just love how simple, clean and colorful it came out.
Here was my inspiration of spring....love the little caterpillars
and the spring flowers....so pretty!
Let me walk you through my process on
creating my spring card....
First you see the end result of the Die-Namites Die-Caterpillar Branch,
die cut, colored and also for depth I fuzzy cut out parts and popped
them up and curled the flowers for interest and life like.
I started with die cutting the "Caterpillar Branch" out of
white card stock.
(I like to do this with all my dies and keep them handy for projects)
I used my ShinHanart Touch Twin Markers.
I started with spa green, color #GY235
coloring the stems and leaves.
Here is my hint of spring-flowers...
I used Tender Pink color #RP198
colored the base of the flower.
I used Cherry Pink color #R5
for shading and layering of color.
Repeating with Tender Pink and
Cherry Pink till I was happy.
For the caterpillars
(forgot to photo I was so into the coloring, lol)
I used Pastel Green color #Y49,
Warm Grey color #WG4 and
Mahogany color #BR96
I did the same repeating and layering as
I did for the pink flowers.
I glued the base "Caterpillar Branch" die cut colored piece down
to the card front. Then fussy cut out images to pop up for depth.
Added pearls to the flower centers as well as
stamping a sentiment.
are even better
when they are
That's it, simple and clean card...that says hi spring is coming!
