Last Day To Enter the September Challenge!

Hello Crafty Friends!
Today is the last day of the Photo Inspiration Challenge!! And I've got one more inspirational card for ya!!

For this card I used Die-Namites' Hello Daisy die.

Hello Daisy

I love the bright Yellows in the inspiration photo... it just jumped out at me! So I used that as my starting point and thought that these daisies were just perfect to do the job!

I cut three layers of flowers from white card stock. I kept one layer completely intact and glued it to a piece of card stock so the little pieces wouldn't fall out. Then I airbrushed that layer with yellow, orange, green, and brown markers .

The second layer I airbrushed light green, then dark green around the edges and punched out and discarded the veins of the leaves. Then I glued that layer down over the first layer.

For my last layer I cut off only the blooms. and airbrushed the centers of the two biggest flowers with yellow. Then glued those over their matching flowers.

I adhered my flowers to craft cardstock using an embossing folder that mimicked the inspirational layout. And highlighted the raised areas with a white opaque marker for a bit of pop. I matted it with plain yellow cardstock , then adhered it to a plain white card base.

Finally I topped my flowers off with a triple loop bow and hot glued a button into place.

I hope you enjoyed today's inspirational card! And, don't forget, today is the very last day you can enter the challenge!! Make sure to link to the ORIGINAL challenge post HERE.

Until next time...
HAPPY CRAFTING MY FRIENDS!!

Boo Card

I love the colors of Halloween; the orange and black are so striking together.  For this card I went for an elegant spooky look, not sure that is really a things, but I love he feel the card gives.

I used the tall skinny card as my base, and spray and flicked mist on the card for texture.  I cut out a decorative section for a paper and layered it over the die cut ivy pieces from the black cardstock (I used both the kraft and black sides).  Cut out a couple of bats of different sizes, add some black swirls, and stick the "BOO" at the bottom.  Done!!

I just Die~Namites dies.  They are so versatile for so many projects.   I used the Large Ivy cut out 3 times, 2 in black and one in kraft.  I cut the kraft ivy apart to use above and below the emblem in the middle.  I always ink everything to give it that finishing touch, and black just seemed fitting for this card.

My kind of Wonderful - Challenge Inspiration

Hi my dear crafty friends, Susanne here to share more details about my card that was inspired by our current challenge.

During this month, we have a photo inspiration challenge. You can make anything using die cuts from Die-Namites and let it be the STAR of your design. You can use these combined with colors, shapes, patrons, pattern papers, stamps, paints, stencils, etc.

I used a bunch of dies from Die-Namites to decorate this card. By the way, I have a 15% discount code for you to use with your next order over at the Die-Namites Dies Online Store. Use susanne15 during the checkout process.

I tried to incorporate flowers, the arrangement and the colors from the inspirational image. The big flower in the middle is cut with the Silhouette Cameo. I cut the beautiful Spring Doily out of a patterned paper that had some shades of blue on it. To get a little amount of pink I decided to color the lovely hearts from the Heart Branch with water-soluble crayons. The Large Ivy is cut out of white cardstock. For a high contrast and also to follow the theme I created a brown mixed media background. I used embossing paste together with a stencil from ARTplorations to get some texture. While the paste was still wet I added some Fran-tage aged ochre embossing enamel and melted this with my heat tool. After that I used Art Sprays from Marabu to color the background. The embossing acts as a resist. My sentiment is a STAMPlorations stamp, I embossed it with Ranger gold ultra fine detail embossing powder. I cut the banner by hand and distressed the edges.

You have still time to enter the current challenge! Our Top Winner (randomly selected from the Top 3 Favorites) will receive a $25 voucher!

Don't forget to use the 15% discount code with your next order over at the Die-Namites Dies Online Store. Use susanne15 during the checkout process.

Dance with a Butterfly Wreath

Hello everyone, welcome to my dance with a Butterfly Wreath, one of favorites dies of DieNamites. But if you are like me, all the die cuts are my favorites!

Today I want to share with you in a few steps how I created this card that I used for our monthly challenge. I really love the clean and simple style and I enjoyed showing you the benefits of the die cuts.

Instructions:
  • To create the base of the card, cut a piece of card stock whisper white of 4-1/4" x 11" and make a score line in 5-1/2".
  • Stamp a border image on the left side using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used the Dotty Angles Stamp Set from Stampin Up.
  • Cut a piece of whisper white card stock of 5-1/2" x 3-3/4".
  • Stamp a sentiment on the right corner using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used the Tin of Cards Stamp Set from Stampin Up.
  • Cut the Butterfly Wreath Die Cut twice using two different colors. I used the sahara sand and Old Olive.
  • Then cut the butterflies using three different colors. I used the Hello Honey, Tangerine Tange and Eggplant Elegant. Also cut the little flowers using whisper white card stock.
  • Combine the colors, paste the inside part of the die cut using washi tape behind of this.
  • Using dimensionals or double side foam tape, paste the complete die cut over the second layer.
  • Paste the little butterflies in different colors over the original butterflies using glue dots, open the wings and decorate the center with little pearls.
  • Paste the white flowers with a liquid glue over the sahara sand flowers.

This is the Butterfly Wreath, the central piece of my card. This is available in our store and you can buy this and all of our die cuts using my discount code martha15 to get the 15% off on your shopping.

Remember you can participate in our Monthly Challenge and have the opportunity to win a $25 gift card of DieNamites Store. You only have to use any die cut from DieNamites in your creation and link this before September 30. This is a great opportunity, because you can also be spotlighted in our blog!

Here's September inspirational photo...

Isn't it just gorgeous??

This monthly challenge will run until September 29, 2015 (8:55pm Eastern Time) and there will be a SPOTLIGHT feature of our Top 3 Favorites on October 15. Any style and all levels are welcome! Among the Top 3 favorites, there will be a random draw for a lucky and talented winner who will then receive the top prize. You are welcome to combine other challenges, but please limit your total number of challenges to no more than 5.

The randomly selected winner will be awarded a $25 gift voucher to the Die-Namites online store! How AWESOME is that?!!

Make sure to link up your projects onto the original CHALLENGE post

I love all the details in the photo... all the flowers, the arrangement, and all the gorgeous colors. I tried to incorporate all those elements into my card.

I shaded my flowers and leaves by airbrushing them with Sharpie markers. For the White flowers I cut the blooms separately from the flowers, using the Flowers and Leaves die, and layered them onto another flower, then adhered it to a coordinating color patterned cardstock so the would be solid flowers and leaves. I did the same with my purple flower cut from Flower Vase die, this time snipping off just the flower and stem and discarding the vase.

To finish off my card, I added leaves I cut form Die-Namites' Small Ivy die and arranged them behind all my flowers and added paper stamens, Prima Flowers, rhinestones, and glitter enamel dots.

Card base and band were embossed with folders by Anna Griffin . Scalloped oval and oval punches by Marvy Uchida. and Stamped Sentiment by Virginia Turtle.

Need another reason to purchase the fabulous dies??

ARE YOU READY FOR FALL?

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you my first card using a traditional die cut for fall, the Pumpkin Harvest, available in our DieNamites Store

It is not a secret that I love to use the DieNamites die cuts because they are great to cut through heavy cardstock or different materials. In this opportunity I am using watercolor paper, although it is heaver than regular cardstock, believe me you won't have any problem with this.

The base of my card is very vanilla. I stamped this with a Hardwood Background Stamp from Stampin Up using Crumb Cake Classic Ink, then I colored the Pumpkin Harvest with watercolors crayons. To finalize the card I layered the colored piece over another very vanilla coat and tied several loops of bakers twine on top. My sentiment was stamped on the bottom part using Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink. I also decorated the borders of this piece using a piercing tool.

Now I have another good news for you. You can buy this die and all others die cuts that you want in our DieNamites Store using My Discount Code martha15, this will give you 15% off in your entire order, before shipping and taxes and you can use this code anytime!

I hope my card inspired you to create your projects using different materials. The DieNamites Die Cuts cut foil, fun foam, thin chipboard, wool blend felt, tissue paper, fabric, cork, acetate, photo magnets and more. The best part is that they are designed to work with all major cutting tools in the market.

Autumnal Pillow Box

Hi my dear crafty friends!

This is my first post on the Die-Namites Dies Blog and I am so proud and happy to be part of this awesome design team. I'm in love with Die-Namites Dies for a long time, because their designs are so unique and the quality is WOW! I've never had any problems cutting through heavy weight cardstock although the dies are sometimes very intricate (that's what I love the most).
I have a 15% discount code for you to use with your next order over at the Die-Namites Dies Online Store. Use susanne15 during the checkout process.

Today I'd like to share a mixed media pillow box which is decorated with the "Spring Doily", the "Large Ivy" and the "Heart Branch" from Die-Namites.

Large Ivy DN-1171
http://www.die-namites.com/Heart-Branch_p_46.html
Heart Branch DN-1039
The maple leave is a stamp which was stamped with Neocolor II watercolor crayons. I painted the stamp with the crayons, added water with a brush and the result is a lovely watercolor look of the image.
The pillow box was cut out of kraft paper with the Silhouette Cameo. I gave it some texture by adding Gel Medium through a stencil. After this was dry I colored the whole box with Faber-Castell Gelatos.

The "Large Ivy" is cut out of watercolor paper and painted it with the Neocolor II crayons. I created a palette by skribbling some of the paint onto an acrylic block and used water with a brush to pick the color up. To get more interest I added some color splatters as well. I used kraft cardstock for the lovely "Heart Branch" and some patterned paper for the awesome "Spring Doily".

I hope you like my little pillow box. Don't forget to use the 15% discount code with your next order over at the Die-Namites Dies Online Store. Use susanne15 during the checkout process.
See you all soon and happy crafting, Susanne.

Decorative Plant Holders w/Video

Hi, Erin here!  I love to take things that are around my house and re-purpose them into something new. Why not turn an aluminum can into something cute, a plant holder or vase?!?

Here is a how to video showing how to make these fun little planters.

I could not resist in using the herbs Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme; for those that are in the know!

To help bring a little fun flair to the cans I used the beautiful "Heart Doily" from Die~Namites Dies.  It caputred the feel of the September inspiration just perfectly!!
